PACHA

MANCA

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Pachamancha, a traditional Inca cooking method, uses heated stones to cook food. This ancient technique has been passed down through generations in Peru

1

We construct a dome-shaped oven using stones, then ignite a fire inside to heat the stones for approximately one hour, until it's ready

Next, remove the ash and carefully dislodge some heated stones to create a flat surface. Place the meat on top, then cover it with additional stones. Repeat this process, layering ingredients and stones until all are cooked

Once all ingredients are layered with stones, cover the oven with a clean blanket and grass. Then, bury it with earth, sealing in the heat. After 40 minutes, uncover to find your delicious, slow-cooked meal ready
